What is GPGCM - 3rd Free MAX/MSP Patch?

Welcome to the third in our continuing series of free MAX/MSP patches that explore interactivity along with our effects processes. This one, GPGCM, which stands for Gravitas Phrase Generator, CM Edition, allows numbered soundfiles to be played randomly, and effects them randomly as well using two instances of MegaDelayMassCM - the free, mono version of MegaDelayMass our 100 tap plug-in we created for Computer Music UK.

Additionally, it allows the sound files to be looped, have a random amount of time between files being played, randomized panning and randomized speed and direction of the looped soundfiles.

I called it the Gravitas Phrase Generator because I've been using it for years to string together 60+ words said 3 different ways creating continuous phrases, and the results sound rather dramatic and intentional, hence Gravitas. (also - Rene Wassenburg, my friend who's voice is heard on the included samples, sounds like he's got a lot of gravitas :)

INCLUDED IN THIS BUNDLE: a README, the GPGCM patch, 185 numbered soundfiles of individual words to get started with, the free version of our popular and critically acclaimed MegaDelayMass plug-in, "MegaDelayMassCM", and some other goodies

To make this work you'll need to download and install the Max 5 Runtime.
MAX/MSP is a visual, object oriented programming environment - currently in version 5

The Max 5 Runtime is a free "play only" version of MAX/MSP - meaning people who own full blown versions of MAX/MSP can write "patches" that, can be "run" for free. You can find it here: http://www.cycling74.com/downloads/

Please note that even though MegaDelayMassCM is "free" - it still uses PACE copy protection.

A more detailed explanation of what's going on here, and really the thought behind what this does is available thru the blog entitled Artificial Artificial Intelligence OR There's Something about Randomness (acting on things with inherent structure), so check that out.
